The feast of the Pentecost in Smyrna was celebrated with religious devotion.
Metropolitan Bartholomew celebrated on Soul Saturday, June 16, the Divine Liturgy at the Greek Orthodox Cemetery of Smyrna, after which he read the Trisagion for the rest of the souls.
On the Sunday of the Pentecost, June 17, Metropolitan Bartholomew officiated at the Matins and the Divine Liturgy which were celberated at the Holy Temple of Saint Photini, and after that he officiated at the Vespers of the Monday of the Holy Spirit and read the prayers of the Genuflection.
The services took place with the participation of a lot of members of the Orthodox Community, as well as pilgrims and excursionists from abroad, who had been visiting the Asia Minor coasts those days.
