The Vespers of the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great were celebrated overnight at the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin in Lyon, presided over by Bishop of Melitini Mr. Maximos.
The Bishop of Melitini was then invited to the historic I. Church of St. John the Baptist where he was guided by father Jean-Sébastien Tuloup. Father Jean opened the ossuary of the Temple for Bishop Maximos to worship the relics, including the Saints of the East of the first millennium.
The famous Synod between the Orthodox and the Roman Catholic Church took place in this particular Church in 1274. Fr. Jean guided the Bishop of Melitini and analyzed the history of many ecclesiastical relics held by this historical church.
The Bishop of Melitini, Maximos, then officiated at the Communion of the Holy Passion at the First Church of the Annunciation.
