Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated on August 9, 2019, on the occasion of the patron saint day, the Holy hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Holy Martyr and Healer Panteleimon in Mirijevo, Belgrade suburb.
The archpriests-stavrophors Dragan Stanisic, Tode Jeftenic and Nedeljko Bozic, archpriests Milenko Karan and Milos Micic, hieromonk Amvrosije (Vesic), priest Arsen Milovanovic, protodeacons Radomir Percevic and Stevan Rapajic as well as deacons Dragan Tanasijevic and Nikola concelebrated.
Patriarch Irinej blessed and broke the festal cake, while the choir with faithful people, who filled the church, sang troparion to Saint Panteleimon. The sponsors of this celebration were the Popovics, Radakovics and Jankovics families.
Serbian Patriarch Irinej presented the high decoration of the Serbian Orthodox Church – Order of Saint King Milutin to the President of the Church Committee of the church of Saint Panteleimon, Goran Babić, dipl. eng. architecture, for his selfless efforts as well as for great financial assistance during the construction of the sacred church in Mirijevo.
Hierarchal Certificates of Honor for their great efforts during the construction of the church were handed in: Mrs. Draginja Tica (sponsor of the church); Nebojsa Perovic, lawyer and great benefactor; the Ljubicanović – Branka family and the late Stanoje – donors of all roof crosses, and Mr. Zoran Stosic, locksmith and chairman of the Church Committee of the church of the Holy Prophet Elijah in Mirijevo, for his constant participation and selfless aid during the construction of the church of Saint Panteleimon.
The magnificent celebratory service was attended by Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, representatives of the City Municipality of Zvezdara: Mrs. Violeta Filip, Deputy President, and members of the Council, Messrs. Dusan Ignjatovic and Robert Milicevic, many believers, friends, associates, and personalities from public and cultural life.
