On Friday, December 1, Associate Professor Michael Stroumbakis, President of the Academic Council of the Patriarchal Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete (PAEAK), visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate during the Thronal Feast. During his visit, he had a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Patriarchal Office, a moment dedicated to conveying his respect and seeking the Patriarch’s blessings on his new role.
Mr. Stroumbakis expressed the deep love, respect, and dedication of all members, administrative staff, and students of the Academy toward the Ecumenical Patriarchate, especially toward the revered figure of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
With paternal affection, the Ecumenical Patriarch extended his warm wishes to the new President and bestowed the Mother Church’s blessings for the success of the Academy’s endeavors. He underscored the sacred duty and mission of the Academy toward the Church and society. The discussion centered on the Academy’s operational aspects, alongside proposals to enhance its relationship with the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
As a token of appreciation and encouragement, the Ecumenical Patriarch presented the President with publications from the Holy Theological School of Chalki and digital records of ecclesiastical and traditional music. These gifts were intended to enrich the education and cultural cultivation of the students at the Patriarchal Academy.
