The memory of Hieromartyr Seraphim, Bishop of the Phanar, was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Annunciation in Sydney on Monday, December 4, the day on which Metropolitan Seraphim of Sebastia celebrates his name day.
Metropolitan Seraphim presided over the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and Hierarchical Head of the Holy Cathedral, Archimandrite Christoforos Krikelis of the Ecumenical Throne, and other clergymen of the city of Sydney. Bishops Iakovos of Militoupolis and Bartholomew of Charioupolis were also present.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Seraphim spoke about the life of his patron saint, emphasizing his unwavering psyche and devotion to Christ.
Following the Dismissal, the Metropolitan of Sebastia received the warm wishes of the Bishops, the clergy and the faithful for his name day. Then, a treat was offered to everyone in the official ceremonial hall of the Theological School of St. Andrew.
