“Wherever and as long as there are Greeks, traditions and customs will be fully preserved”
On Sunday, January 7, Lusaka celebrated Saint John the Baptist Feast and Epiphany Festivities.
Amidst the festivities, which included the diving for the Holy Cross and the Blessing of the Waters, the community gathered for the cutting of the Vasilopita at the Episcopal residence following the Divine Liturgy. The Consulates of Greece and Cyprus, along with the Metropolis, blessed and shared their Vasilopitas.
The day continued with a delightful program tailored for the children, curated to engage and entertain.
The Metropolitan of Zambia welcomed everyone warmly, sharing in the joyous atmosphere and extending heartfelt festive greetings.
Following the Vasilopita blessing, the Metropolitan bestowed gifts upon all the children, who joyfully expressed their gratitude and appreciation to their caring shepherd.
