Pope Francis, speaking to the gathered faithful in St. Peter’s Square, extended warm Easter greetings to those celebrating Orthodox Easter.
In particular, Pope Francis said:
“I send my heartfelt wishes to our brothers and sisters in the Orthodox Churches and certain Eastern Catholic Churches, who, following the Julian Calendar, commemorate Holy Pascha today. May the Risen Lord bring joy and peace to all communities of believers and offer solace to those facing trials. I wish them a happy Easter.”
