Find below the message of Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia:
Following my recent health ordeal due to the serious illness of malaria, and with feelings of gratitude to God for its successful outcome, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who stood by me and contributed in their unique way.
Special thanks are due to Professor Sotirios Tsiodras of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, who, with profound scientific knowledge and unparalleled humanity, undertook the difficult task of treating me and restoring my health.
A big thank you also goes to Professor Socrates Papageorgiou of the same school and Dr Konstantinos Papadimitriou, Scientific Director of the Pathology Department of Evgenideio, for their invaluable contribution.
I would also like to thank the President of the Evgenideio Hospital, Mr. Stelios Kotsios, the Managing Director, Mrs. Efi Basdra, as well as all the nursing and other staff of the Evgenideio Hospital for the care and warmth with which they have surrounded me during these days of hospitalization.
Finally, I owe a great debt of gratitude to my friends and relatives and to the many people who, once again, showed their love by praying and reaching out to me to express their love and support at this difficult time.
Two words from the Gospel reading define the appropriate attitude: “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Luke 8:50).
From the bottom of my heart, I pray that the Almighty God will grant everyone good health and every good thing!
With prayer and gratitude,
Ioannis of Zambia
