Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and all Africa visisted his home, the birthplace of his blessed father, Michael, in the village of Choreftiana, Kissamos, “as a humble pilgrim,” as he said.
Patriarch Theodoros performed a Trisagion memorial service at the grave of his late father, Michael, and he also prayed for the repose of the souls of other family members who rest in the same cemetery. He recalled childhood memories from his place of origin, the village of Choreftiana, Kissamos.
The Patriarch then visited the neighbourhood of “Choreftiana”, his paternal home, which was recently renovated. He blessed the place and he met relatives, who welcomed him wholeheartedly.
Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria was accompanied by Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos and Metropolitan Amfilochios of Kissamos and Selinos.
