“I want to warmly thank our homeland for always remembering the Patriarchate of Alexandria,” said Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria during the New Year’s Doxology that took place at the Church of the Annunciation in Alexandria.
The primate of the Patriarchate of Alexandria thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias for their support for Africa’s missionary work.
He also expressed his gratitude to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, “the father of Greek community,” he described him. He also thanked Archbishop Eirinaios of Crete, who granted the camps of St. Titus in Heraklion to the children of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. He referred to the contribution of the Church of Cyprus, and to their solidarity and love towards the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
The Doxology was attended by the Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, Metropolitan of Narkissos of Naucratis and Bishop Germanos of Tamiatheus, and the President of the Greek Yacht Club of Alexandria, Lilika Thlivitou.
