Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia paid a pastoral visit to Denmark from Friday, November 12, 2021, until Sunday, November 14, 2021.
The Metropolitan, accompanied by the Archimandrites Sosipatros Stefanoudis and Alexandros Loukatos, arrived in the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, on the afternoon of Friday, November 12, 2021.
On Saturday, November 13, 2021, Metropolitan Cleopas met with representatives of the Greek community in the town of Roskilde, which is about 30 kilometers from Copenhagen.
On Saturday night, the Metropolitan, accompanied by the two clergymen, attended a dinner offered by the Ambassador of Greece to Denmark, Nikolaos Kotrokois. The dinner was also attended by the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus in Denmark Iakovos Girakosian and the associates of the Greek Embassy George Gaitanis and Socrates Tragotsis.
The next day, Sunday, November 14, 2021, the Metropolitan conducted the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint George. In his sermon, he referred to the person of the Good Samaritan, who is Christ himself, and to the faces of our wounded brothers and sisters, inviting Christians and especially the clergy to take a stand on daily issues of human relationships and attitudes, bringing each of us to our responsibilities.
Afterwards, Ambassador Nikolaos Kotrokois and Commissioner Iakovos Girakosian addressed greetings.
The Archimandrites Sosipatros Stefanoudis and Alexandros Loukatos participated in the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, the hymns were sung by Panteleimon Smyrnakis, Anastasios Galanopoulos, and Dimitrios.
A reception followed in the church hall, where the Metropolitan had the opportunity to talk with members of the parish and its Ecclesiastical Council.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Metropolitan returned to the seat of the Holy Metropolis in Stockholm, accompanied by Fr. Sosipatros, and Fr. Alexander returned to Oslo.
