At noon on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia received a group of 15 students from the Sankta Birgittas Folkhöskola College, accompanied by their professor, Mr. Göran, at St. George’s Cathedral in Stockholm.
First, Metropolitan Cleopas greeted the students, who had asked to visit the aforementioned church as part of their theology and Christian Church studies classes.
It was the first time they had visited an Orthodox church, as they all confessed, and they were delighted with the surroundings and admired the result of the restoration of the church and its frescoes.
For an hour and a half, the Metropolitan answered the questions of the students and the accompanying professor and explained the theology of the Orthodox Church.
He also spoke about the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and referred to the voluntary attendance of young people who wish to join the Orthodox Church, and the whole missionary work carried out in the Nordic countries.
The visitors were offered a brochure with the history of the Cathedral and the publication of the Metropolis with the trilingual Divine Liturgy in Greek, Swedish, and English, printed with the care of the Apostolic Ministry of the Church of Greece.
