Palm Sunday was celebrated solemnly in the Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel of the Arabic-speaking Orthodox Community of Cairo under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa officiated the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Metropolitan Nicodimos of Memphis and Patriarchal Commissioner of Cairo, and Bishop Theodoros of Babylon.
Consul General of Greece in Cairo Georgios Daskalopoulos, the president and members of the Arabic-speaking Community of Cairo, the staff of the Egyptian Federation for Scouts, and other representatives of bodies in Cairo attended the Divine Liturgy.
During the Divine Liturgy, Deacon Fr. Theodoros Sousos was ordained as a presbyter, and the Patriarch imposed hands upon the deacon to ordain him as Archimandrite.
