According to a statement issued yesterday, April 9, eight priests in six churches in Moscow were tested positive for coronavirus.
In addition, with recommendations sent to the priests, churches and monasteries all over the country, the Patriarchate of Moscow urges local hierarchs and clergy to call on the faithful to stay home during the Holy Week and Easter Day due to coronavirus pandemic.
The recommendations will be implemented and supplemented at the discretion of the local hierarchs, given that the health and epidemiological situation prevailing in each region is different, said the working group of the Moscow Patriarchate, which coordinates the activities of all ecclesiastical institutions during coronavirus pandemic.
