Metropolitan Emmanuel of France and Rabbi David Rosen of Jerusalem held a meeting today with the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Paris, Michel Aupetit.
The debate was very amicable, and they exchanged views on inter-religious dialogue and the results of these days’ meetings in Paris.
Archbishop Michel Aupetit was particularly interested in the Orthodox Church in France and the parish organizational structure of the Holy Metropolis.
Metropolitan of France Emmanuel, in turn, was briefed on the progress of the work on the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral recently destroyed by fire. In addition, they set the date and place of the Orthodox Vespers since the Notre-Dame de Paris has been seriously damaged. It was customary for the Greek Orthodox community to hold the Orthodox Vespers Service every October in the chapel of Saint Dionysius of Areopagite.
The two Hierarchs also discussed inter-Christian cooperation in France in areas of common interest and charity.
