Metropolitan Eirinaios of Florina recently embarked on a significant visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, accompanied by Archim. Agathangelos Tallidis and Archdeacon Theoklitos Stamkos from March 9th to 10th, 2024.
During his visit, on Meatfare Sunday, March 10th, Metropolitan Eirinaios had the honor of presiding over the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy held at the historic Patriarchal Church of St. George at the Phanar.
Of particular note, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew graced the Divine Liturgy with his presence, extending a warm welcome to Metropolitan Eirinaios at the conclusion of the service.
Following the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Eirinaios had a private meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in his office. During this meeting, the Metropolitan paid his respects to the Ecumenical Patriarch, with whom he shares a longstanding association dating back to his thirty-year ministry in the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis. In addition, Metropolitan Eirinaios received the Patriarch’s heartfelt wishes and blessings for his pastoral responsibilities in the Holy Metropolis of Florina, Prespa, and Eordea.
An endearing moment during the visit occurred when Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Eirinaios gathered for a commemorative photo with students and teachers from the 1st General Lyceum of Florina. These students were on an educational journey to Constantinople and had the opportunity to visit the historic grounds of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
