Today, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, the Conference titled “Yannis Ritsos: The Poet of Romiosini” took place at the Great Synodikon of the Holy Theological School. Organized under the auspices of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the event was hosted by the Zografeio Lyceum of Constantinople and the Mandoulides Schools.
Educational institutions from Constantinople, Imbros, Greece, Cyprus, and other Greek-speaking regions participated in the conference. Teachers and students delivered presentations and short talks, focusing on the literary legacy of Yannis Ritsos.
Following the conclusion of the conference, attendees, including groups of teachers and students from various schools, visited the chapel and were guided through the Library and the historic classrooms of the School by Mr. Ioannis Dermitzolgos, Director of the Zografeio Lyceum. The Abbot expressed gratitude to Mr. Dermitzolgos for his ongoing dedication to expatriate education and for organizing collaborative initiatives involving numerous schools and hundreds of students from Greece, Cyprus, and beyond.
