My dear children,
One and a half years ago, our daily life in Austria and globally was affected and changed by a multifaceted crisis, the coronavirus pandemic. With unshakable trust in Divine Grace, Love, and Mercy of the Triune God, from the beginning of the crisis until today, the Holy Metropolis of Austria, to the best of its ability, tries to meet the pastoral and very often material needs of the people. “Filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God” (Phil. 1,11), we consider this to be our mission. In the same context, we have multiplied since last year, mainly in Vienna, the performance of Divine Liturgies, so that as many believers as possible participate. The clergy of the Metropolis of Austria are always available in person, by telephone, or by e-mail to offer their pastoral services and support during these difficult times.
With God’s help, we were able to deal with urgent matters, supported by many people with goodwill and a big heart. Indicatively, we mention the acquisition of technological equipment for live transmission of the Sacred Services. Greek schools were established and operate in the parishes of Graz and Salzburg with the organizational care of the Holy Metropolis of Austria. Throughout the Metropolis of Austria, many pastoral, social, and charitable activities are underway.
To continue these efforts, especially under the current demanding conditions, the Church asks its children to show love for their neighbor by strengthening it financially.
