Medicine which will be shipped to the neighbour earthquake-striken people of Albania, are being gathered from today until Friday by the Holy Metropolis of Alexandroupolis.
“Solidarity has no borders, for Christ too has no limits in His love and offerings, something that has brought Him up to the Cross. The Church is well aware of helping and reaching out to Christians, so that through this action we can proclaim everywhere and not only on the holy days to come, but throughout the whole year, that the Church is ministry and love,” the Protosyncellus of the Metropolis of Alexandroupolis, Eirinaios Laftsis told ANA-MPA.
He explains that Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis,Traianoupolis and Samothrace realized the agony and interest of many people, originating from Albania, who reside and work in Alexandroupolis, regarding the possibilty of supporting the affected populations.
So the Metropolitan ordered this week to gather three types of medicine, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and painkillers, the suitability of which will be checked by a panel of nurses and doctors and then they will be shipped,” Archimandrite Eirinaios Laftsis said.
