Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke on the phone with Metropolitan Anthimos of Alexandroupolis from the Island of Imbros where he is at the moment.
He expressed his paternal wishes and prayers for a quick extinguishing of the wildfires that have been raging in the region but also in many parts of Greece.
The Ecumenical Patriarch also expressed His Patriarchal blessings to the firefighters, to the policemen, to the volunteers, and to the individuals who have been helping in the fight of extinguishing the wildfires.
