The Berat Museum Center has just completed the restoration of the icon “St. John the Baptist” dating back to 1835, which is authored by Naum Çetiri.
The news was announced by Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, who emphasized that “after a month of intensive work, it is added to the iconographic exhibition in the Onufri museum.”
“The work had some flaws, but the restoration work has highlighted the colors of the icon, the freshness and grandeur of the work. It does not only enrich the collection of Onufri museum, but also complements the chronology in the art of the Çetiri iconographers,” Elva Margariti says.
