Two were the dominant points that the President of New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, highlighted during his visit to Thrace.
According to statements by the party’s spokeswoman, Maria Spyraki, both points concern the Muslim minority of the region.
First is Mitsotakis’s announcement of creating a Muslim council at the Office of the Prime Minister, and second, the creation of truly bilingual schools so that children can learn Greek and Turkish equally well “in order, for all Greek children, to have the same opportunities”.
