The Church of Crete will take initiatives to support and assist those affected by the flood through its Archdioceses in the coming period.
In an announcement, the Holy Synod of the Church of Crete expressed its support and love for those affected by the floods and the extreme weather phenomena.
All the messages, first of all the message of condolences by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, is a support and encouragement for the whole region during these difficult times, during which humanity is weak to deal with the natural phenomena and their repercussions.
In the announcement, it was made clear that, in the face of this great difficulty, “we all realize the urgent need to redefine ourselves as persons primarily as a society, as bodies, as Crete, and our relationship with the entire the creation of God.
The Church of Crete is praying for the rest of our five fellow human beings, victims of these exceptional weather conditions, and extends its heartfelt condolences to their relatives.
