The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, chaired by Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, met in a special session today.
The Holy Synod was briefed on issues of the central payroll body of the clergy.
They also discussed issues related to the conservation of churches under the supervision of the Department of Antiquities.
They were also briefed on the implementation of the General Health System (GESY) and the contributions of clerics and officials of the Archdiocese, the Metropolises and the Holy Monasteries.
Finally, the Holy Synod calls the President of the Republic and the authorities to approve the creation of an asphalt manufacturing plant near the Stavrovouni Monastery.
