With the participation of hundreds of believers, the feast of the Holy Great Martyr Georgios the Victory-Bearer was also celebrated in the homonymous Patriarchal Monastery of Old Cairo.
On Thursday, May 2, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa officiated the Great Vespers, and the following day, on May 3, performed the Matins, and officiated the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Metropolitan Nicodemus of Memphis and Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo, Metropolitan Nifon of Pelusium, and Bishop Theodoros of Babylon and Abbot of the Holy Monastery of St. Georgios in Old Cairo.
Ambassador of Greece to Egypt Michael Diamesis, and Consul of Greece Achilleas Bikis attended the celebration.
Afterwards, the Holy Icon of Martyr Saint Georgios was processed around the Holy Temple, with the participation of many pious pilgrims.
