Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgos Kotsiras emphasized the pivotal role of the Greek language in the strategic plan for Greeks Abroad and the broader Greek diaspora.
In an interview with ERT, he highlighted the unprecedented nature of the comprehensive, organized four-year roadmap designed to strengthen ties with the Greek Diaspora, underlining the coordinated policy of the Kyriakos Mitsotakis government in this regard.
Kotsiras stressed the significance of the language learning platform “staellinika.com” for young Greek expatriates, revealing its expansion to include German and French alongside English and Spanish. The platform facilitates an accessible and engaging introduction to the Greek language, particularly for young learners. The deputy minister outlined plans for further improvements, incorporating artificial intelligence in the near future.
Addressing the issue of postal voting, Kotsiras called on Greek Opposition parties to support its implementation in national elections, meeting a “self-evident request” from Hellenism globally.
Moreover, Kotsiras announced a series of events scheduled for February 9, the Day of the Greek Language, in almost all Greek embassies worldwide. These initiatives aim to highlight the profound significance of the Greek language for Hellenism, serving as both a means of projecting cultural richness and fostering international connections.
