At the NATO Summit in Washington, Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, expressed his country’s readiness to contribute to the significant decisions to be made during the summit. In his statements, Mickoski referred to his country as “Macedonia” and his government as the “Macedonian government.”
“As a country, we are prepared to contribute to anything that represents our shared values. We are here together with our allies to reaffirm our commitment, as before and in the future, to promoting peace, stability, and the functioning of international law,” Mickoski noted.
He emphasized the importance of the summit for small nations like North Macedonia. “For us, as a small nation, it is crucial in these times to make the important decisions that will shape the future of humanity in the coming decades, something to which we will also contribute. Macedonia intends to continue promoting these values. As a Macedonian government, we aim to stand alongside our allies and reaffirm the libertarian spirit of the Macedonian people and citizens.”
Mickoski also highlighted North Macedonia’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations to NATO, particularly in terms of defense spending. “We remain committed to investing at least 2% of our GDP in the modernization of our Army, which is very important. This is the only way we will follow modern trends within the context of the largest global defense alliance ever,” he added.
