On Sunday, August 22, 2021, a day on which the Church commemorates Martyr Agathonicus, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas in the presence of Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, Metropolitan Narcissus of Naucratis, Bishop Germanos of Tamiatheus, the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Archim. Nikodimos Totkas, the clergymen of the Patriarchal Monastery and the faithful.
Before the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarch ordained Archimandrite Isaac Tsapoglou, seconded clergyman of the Metropolis of Elassona, to the Head of the Patriarchal School “Saint Athanasius.”
Addressing the new Director, Archim. Isaac, the Patriarch said the following:
“You came here, Fr. Isaac, and we are very glad because we all love you, especially me who met you years ago and even more Elder Germanos because the late Metropolitan of Langadas, Spyridon, is very glad for his spiritual children coming to assist the missionary work of the Patriarchate.
Your new duties, Fr. Isaac, will be the direction of the Patriarchal School, which I started with so much love and dreams while I was praying to Saint Savvas to protect this school. And now I see the little sprouts blossoming and becoming tall trees with many leaves where many souls rest,” said Patriarch Theodore, as reported by ekalexandria.org.
