In a spirit of resurrection joy, the first meeting of the Holy Clergy took place today, June the 2nd, at the headquarters of the Holy Metropolis Italy in Venice and in the historic Conference Hall (Sala del Capitolo) of the Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies, under the presidency of Metropolitan Polycarpos.
In his thorough introduction, the Metropolitan analyzed and defined all the parameters of the presence and ministry of the Clergy in this sensitive area of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and gave the appropriate directions and necessary clarifications.
Metropolitan Polycarpos focused his interest on the proper and regular operation of the parishes, on the continuous communication and contact with the Parishioners of all nationalities and the local ecclesiastical and state authorities, on the organization of worship, social and cultural events as well as on the search for and attraction of new parishioners and clerical candidates. He also announced the intention to establish a Theological Seminar for the training of the staff of the Holy Metropolis.
The meeting concluded with the distribution of new Αntimensions followed by lunch to all Clergy and their families and the Metropolitan met in private capacity with most of the participating Fathers.
