On Monday, March 28, 2022, the new board of directors of the Philoptochos fund “Filoxenia” was elected at the offices of the Holy Metropolis of Belgium.
The new Board of Directors is chaired by Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium. Myrto Marichal is the Vice-Chairwoman and coordinator. Anais Vathi was elected secretary and Aspa Limniou was elected treasurer. The members of the Philoptochos are the following: Despina Gaspari, Tania Dimou, Aikaterini Koulouri, Nektaria Margaroni, and Georgia Tsaklaganou. The role of the spiritual advisor of “Filoxenia” asbl was assigned to the respected father Pawel Cecha.
In accordance with the Orthodox Christian tradition, Filoxenia wishes to reach those in need and to this end, it extends an open invitation to all interested parties to contribute to the achievement of this goal.
In a spirit of full cooperation and solidarity with parishes and help centers in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, Filoxenia will act along the following services:
a) Charitable ministry: visits and support to institutions such as houses, prisons, orphanages, distribution of materials, food, clothes, etc.
b) Pastoral health: Pastoral care of patients in institutions or at home.
c) Ecology – Youth – Education: Orthodox ecology with environmental education, programs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, etc.
d) Society and culture: Strengthening social networks, pastoral and cultural excursions, charity events, etc.
