On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the day of the celebration of the Holy Monastery of Nativity of the Virgin in Asten in the Netherlands, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium, and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, presided over the Divine Liturgy.
During his sermon, Metropolitan Athenagoras referred to the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan of Belgium thanked Abbess Ioanna and the fraternity of the Holy Monastery for the warm welcome and asked the Virgin Mary to protect this humble Monastery, especially today that it needs it.
In addition, he thanked the priest of the Monastery, Elder Siluanos, as well as the clergymen from Belgium who accompanied the Metropolitan to the Monastery.
