The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine, presided over the festal Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of Pentecost.
The Divine Liturgy was performed in St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery and was concelebrated by Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod and the brotherhood of the monastery and invited clergymen.
“As we glorify God, the One in the Trinity, for the gifts and benefits revealed to us through the miracle of Pentecost, today we will kneel saying special prayers and ask for renewal in ourselves by the grace of the Holy Spirit.
By bowing before God, we thus testify to our humility before our Creator, our faith in Him, our hope not in our own strength and endurance, but in grace, ‘which heals the weak and replenishes the weary’,” said Metropolitan Epifaniy in his sermon.
