An event in honor of the students who graduated from primary school this year was organized on Friday, December 18, by the Greek Orthodox College of St John Preston in Melbourne. The event took place at the Tabor Function Room of the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Thomastown.
The Vicar of Northcote, Archimandrite Evmenios Vassilopoulos, congratulated and thanked the Head of the College, Anna Urban, the teachers and the staff on their hard work, who managed to cope with a year full of challenges and trials.
He also congratulated the students who successfully completed their studies in elementary school, having shown enviable courage and patience during a difficult year. “The children set the example for us this year. Those who are willing to do so can overcome everything,” he noted.
In closing, Fr. Evmenios conveyed to all those present the wishes and blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia while, addressing in particular to the parents of the students, he conveyed the gratitude of the Holy Archdiocese and personally of the Archbishop for the love, support their devotion to St. John’s College.
