On Saturday, May 18, at noon, after a widespread welcome, the enthronement of the new Metropolitan Athanasios of Sisanion and Siatista was held.
The new Hierarch was accompanied by equestrians dressed in local traditional suits, while clergymen and a crowd of faithful awaited the new Metropolitan, headed by Metropolitan Seraphim of Kastoria, Panteleimon of Veroia and Ioustinos of Nea Krini.
There followed a litany to the central square of the city and St. George Holy Church where the enthronement took place. Last but not least, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kastoria, the Primate of the parish, Archimandrite Nikolaos Alexiou, as well as Metropolitan Athanasios of Sisanion gave a speech on occasion of the holy event.
