The current Chief Secretary of the Archdiocese of Crete, Archimandrite Prodromos Xenakis, was elected a while ago new Auxiliary Bishop of Crete, by seven votes.
Archimandrite Prodromos Xenakis, a close associate of the Archbishop of Crete for many years , was unexpectedly elected new Auxiliary Bishop of Crete and Bishop of Knossos.
Specifically, Prodromos Xenakis was elected by seven votes, while Methodius Vernidakis and Eirinos Verikakis received one vote each.
