When we go to the doctor for a cure, we don’t tell him what to do. He knows his job. We just tell him that we are in pain and where we are suffering.
Truth is given to us when we humbly ask for it, as we ask the doctor for health.
We cannot order the truth, but ask it to be given to us, to be revealed. For the truth is God, whom we cannot command, but only beg and love. The doctor knows what you want when you visit him. The only thing you can say is that you are in pain and where you feel the pain. The rest is his job.
That is why the Holy Fathers advise us to pray like little children crying when they are in pain. And they just show us where they are in pain.
