Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, Elder Ephraim, underwent angioplasty with stent placement on Tuesday afternoon.
The surgery was carried out in a private clinic abroad, in which two years ago, Elder Efraim had undergone angioplasty with placement of five stents.
The doctors are looking after Elder Efraim and they recommended him to rest.
It is recalled that on Friday, February 1, just after his visit in Kiev, Elder Efraim suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized.
