The right hand of St. John the Russian will arrive in Romania on Thursday.
The Saint’s hand will be placed for reverence on Friday morning at Pantocrator Monastery in Drăgănești-Vlașca, Teleorman County, and will remain there until May 21.
Pantocrator Monastery is under the patronage of Saint Mary Magdalene, equal to the Apostles.
This is the first time that the hand of St. John the Russian has left Mount Athos since it was received as a gift in 1880. Saint Panteleimon Monastery (Rusikon) received it as a gesture of appreciation for the help offered in the construction of the church dedicated to the Saint on the island of Evia in Greece.
