The progress of important projects related to port infrastructure, fire safety, flood protection, restoration of monuments, and construction of infrastructure projects on Mount Athos was approved at yesterday’s meeting of the Council for the Preservation of the Athonite Heritage, which was attended by the new Governor of Mount Athos, Anastasios Mitsialis, the officials of the organization and the members of the Board of Directors.
The Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace, through the Central Council for the Preservation of the Athonite Heritage, has been continuously supporting the projects of Mount Athos for more than 40 years, in close cooperation with the Holy Community and the Civil Administration of Mount Athos. During these years, it has approved and implemented more than 2,000 projects in the Athonite State (construction, port, energy, forestry, and other projects).
