With the blessing of Metropolitan Maximos of Switzerland, on Saturday, September 4, a Divine Liturgy was performed for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Liechtenstein.
With a team of associates from the Parish of Eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein in St. Gallen, Archim. Damaskinos Kassotis went to Vaduz, the capital of Lichtenstein, where he performed the first Divine Liturgy for the Orthodox living there in Johanneskirche as reported by vema.com.au.
Before the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Trisagion service was performed for the rest of all Orthodox Christians in the country and the message of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for the protection of the natural environment was read in German.
Finally, the faithful were informed that, at the urging and blessing of the Metropolitan of Switzerland, a Divine Liturgy will henceforth be celebrated once a month in Liechtenstein, and not as it was until today, only on the days of the great Despotic Feasts.
This pastoral care is taken to support and strengthen the Orthodox community and with the prospect of more intensive organization in the future.
