Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen at the celebrating Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Ipsomatheia District today, May 21, 2021.
The Divine Word was preached by Grand Syncellus Iakovos, who officiated the Divine Liturgy.
The Ecumenical Patriarch was welcomed by Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, Supervisor of the Region of Hypsomatheia.
Metropolitan Iosif of Buenos Aires as well as believers from the wider area of Ipsomatheia attended the service.
The Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his joy for being close to the faithful of the Region for the feast of the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
The Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the Metropolitan of Selyvria, “for your sacred zeal, love and unwavering interest in the Community and the Christians of this Region, for your kind words and for your cordial welcome.” He also congratulated the Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne George Kasapoglou for the work done in the Region of Hypsomatheia.
Then, at the urging of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Iosif of Buenos Aires referred to the role of the Church, the importance of the ecumenical ministry of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, as well as the valuable service of Patriarch Bartholomew.
