The Deputy Minister of Education paid her first visit to the Greek schools in Cairo, Achillopouleios School and Ampeteios School.
Deputy Minister of Education Sofia Zacharaki is currently on a visit to Cairo, as representative of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to attend the consecration service of the Church of Saints Konstantinos and Eleni in Cairo, which will be celebrated by Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria.
“You can hear the beating heart of Greek education here,” said the deputy minister while visiting the two schools.
Sofia Zacharaki expressed the belief that “I am sure that here you can find people who love not only their country, Egypt, but also love Greece. They learn about the history of Greece. They respect the country they can hear about but will visit someday. I reassure you that the descriptions will be better than what they have learnt.”
“Our commitment is to solve all the problems of the Greek schools abroad,” the deputy minister stressed.
