The Patriarch of Moscow expressed his condolences over the repose in the Lord of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.
The Patriarch of Moscow, even in his condolence message, did not miss the opportunity to attack the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and use the untimely loss of the head of the Church of Serbia to promote the positions of the Russian Church.
Among other things, Patriarch Kirill expressed his condolences on behalf of himself and the entire Russian Church.
“God bestowed on the Church of Saint Sava a wise Patriarch, who devoted his whole life to the work of spiritual nourishment.” As Patriarch Kirill said in his condolence message, “the deceased did much to maintain the unity of world Orthodoxy and to preserve the normal order of the Holy Church of Christ.
The deceased was a great friend of the Russian Orthodox Church, which he repeatedly visited with official visits not only to Moscow but also to the city of St. Petersburg, the baptismal font of Kyiv and the capital of Belarus, Minsk.
Patriarch Irinej has repeatedly spoken with hierarchical courage and straightforwardness in support of persecuted Orthodoxy in Ukraine,” the Patriarch of Moscow concluded in his condolence message.
