Offering his reflections on the Church hymns on the feast of Theophany that point to the regeneration and renewal of nature made by Christ through His baptism into the waters, Metropolitan Andrei of Cluj said that a natural consequence is to care more about environmental education.
“Christ the Lord, by being baptized in the Jordan River, causes a regeneration of the cosmos, and the natural consequence is that we, today’s people, should do a more serious environmental education, to take care of this beautiful world created by God and regenerated by Jesus Christ at Epiphany,” the Metropolitan of Cluj said during the Great Blessing of Waters on January 6.
“Let’s engage in environmental education, and take care of everything because it was given us by God to enjoy it,” said Metropolitan Andrei.
Metropolitan Andrei of Cluj, Maramures, and Satmar officiated the Great Blessing of the Waters at Avram Iancu Square in Cluj-Napoca in the presence of thousands of people.
