“Christ has risen” was heard again this year with the churches open this time in Greece and in most of the Orthodox world, after the “silence” of the previous year.
We celebrated the days of Holy Week and the Resurrection of the Lord this time in the churches, by observing measures to protect our health and that of our fellow human beings.
“Christ is the resurrection of all,” the Ecumenical Patriarch stressed in his Easter message.
“Holy Pascha is not merely a religious feast, albeit the greatest feast for us Orthodox. Every Divine Liturgy, every prayer and supplication of the faithful, every feast and commemoration of Saints and Martyrs, the honor of sacred icons, the “abundant joy” of Christians (2 Cor. 8.2), every act of sacrificial love and fraternity, the endurance of sorrow, the hope that never disappoints the people of God, is a festival of freedom.”
We wish to all the readers of orthodoxtimes.com, and to the whole world. Christ is Risen!
