Today, Friday of the Bright Week, May 3, 2019, the great Feast of Zoodochos Pigi (Life-giving Spring) was celebrated in the homonymous church of “Alexandra” General Hospital.
Bishop Symeon of Thespies, Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, accompanied by Archimandrite Anargyros Koudounis, priest of the temple, officiated at the Divine Liturgy.
God’s Word was preached by Symeon, who referred to Zoodochos Pigi of life.
“So, man can become Life-giving spring the more he approaches Christ, in practice, in his everyday life. Not through imaginery situations; through things that bank and make noise. We can meet Christ, get to know Him and become one with Him within the challenges of everyday life and life itself,” Symeon also pointed out.
The Bishop of Thespies conveyed as well the wishes of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens, and wished healthcare professionals, nurses, patients and their families good health.
After the Divine Liturgy, the procession of the icon took place, led by Bishop Symeon of Thespies.
