With the Blessings of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis served Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Wagga Wagga for the feast day of St Spyridon.
Bishop Bartholomew was assisted by Father Nicholas Stavropoulos.
It was a historic and significant service as it was the first time in over 20 years that a Bishop has served the Divine Liturgy at the Church and at the same time it was the first Divine Liturgy that newly elected Bishop Bartholomew has served in his District as a Bishop.
Present to honor Bishop Bartholomew was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Wagga Wagga Mark Edwards and the State Member of Wagga Wagga the Hon Dr. Joe McGirr, MP.
A lunch was held afterwards.
Bishop Bartholomew then visited the local cemetery and contacted a Trisagion service for the recently departed.
During his visit, Bishop Bartholomew also conducted some confessions for the faithful.
Bishop Bartholomew thanked everyone for their love and hospitality and conveyed all the Blessings of Archbishop Makarios.
