The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Dr. Konstantinos Kombos, was received by Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain in London this morning, at the beginning of the second day of his visit to the British capital.
According to sigmalive.com, the meeting with the Archbishop and the discussion on the developments in Cyprus took place at the headquarters of the Archdiocese; Several issues related to the Cypriot community and the role of the Church were discussed among other things.
In the afternoon, the Foreign Minister will head to the British Parliament, following yesterday’s first day of meetings with groups of the Cypriot community.
Initially, he will have an informal meeting with Lord Wallace of the Liberal Democrats, former Deputy Prime Minister of Scotland, who is monitoring the affairs of Cyprus.
Several meetings will follow, according to sigmalive.com, with the shadow Foreign Minister of the Labour Party David Lamy and with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons Alicia Kearns.
It is recalled that Dr. Kombos had conversations with his counterpart James Cleverly when he visited the Foreign Office in mid-June.
The program of his visit will be completed in the evening, again in British Parliament, with the annual event of remembrance and enlightenment organized by the National Cyprus Federation of the UK, in the presence of many British MPs from all major parties, as reported by sigmalive.com.
