The Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, Evstratiy (Zoria), of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, is currently on a visit in Constantinople to attend the enthronement of the Elder Metropolitan of Chalcedon, Emmanuel.
On the occasion of his visit to Constantinople, the Archbishop met Metropolitan Eugenios of Rethymno, after the Service of the Rejoicings in the Phanar.
In a relevant post on social media, he pointed out that Metropolitan Eugenios was one of the hierarchs who as a member of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate participated in the decisions that led to the granting of the Tomos of Autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in 2018.
“Metropolitan Eugenios is proud to have his signature on this historic document while sending warm wishes to our Primate, Metropolitan Epifaniy, and to the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” Archbishop Zorya said in a post.
