Archbishop Elpidophoros of America presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Protection Monastery of the Theotokos in the Pocono region in Pennsylvania on Thursday as reported by vema.com.au.
The Archbishop announced his visit to the Holy Monastery in a post on social media, in which he stated: “I visited the monastic community of the Holy Protection Monastery of the Theotokos in the Poconos mountain region, PA for their Feastday. Our Monastics are our intercessory frontline whose prayers lift up the entirety of the Church.”
It is noted that the Holy Protection Monastery of the Theotokos, which is under the jurisdiction of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh, was founded in 1993 by the Abbot of the Philotheou monastery, Mount Athos, Elder Ephraim.
